Надо сказать, что зимняя ловля карпа возможна не во всех водоёмах. Там, где уровень кислорода низкий карпа не будет. Ищите его в местах впадения ключей. Так как температура ключевой воды постоянная, лёд над этими местами будет тоньше, следовательно в воде увеличится скопление кислорода. В реках карп может находиться в ямах. В водохранилищах и озёрах его излюбленное место в скоплении коряг. Если есть плотина, то найдете рыбу там. Глубина его обитания зимой в водохранилищах должна быть около двух метров.

Сопротивляемость этого вида резко падает зимой, значит, его гораздо легче будет вытаскивать из проруби. Если ловля происходит в месте скопления коряг, то леска и крючки должны быть увеличенного размера, чтобы не оборвались. На участках с чистым дном крючок можно выбрать более мелкий.
